Initial Assessment + Massage

Choose this option if it's your first massage with us! Approximately 15 minutes will be dedicated to a brief interview to determine your treatment goals and assessment of your physical function (including palpation, range of motion assessment, posture and gait analysis).

This free assessment will be followed by a discussion about a mutually agreed upon treatment plan and a 60 minute therapeutic massage based on your needs.

Therapeutic Massage

Choose this option if you're not sure which massage is right for you! Assessment, treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain.

Undress to your level of comfort. You have the right to stop, alter or modify treatment at any time. All lotion is hypoallergenic, but you are welcome to bring your own if it is clearly labelled and in it's original container. Please arrive on time, but no more than 5 minutes prior to your appointment to avoid congestion in parking and waiting room areas.

Cupping

Cupping is a therapeutic technique that comes from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is believed to have numerous health benefits in addition to stimulating the flow of qi ("life force") within the body.

This treatment integrates well with massage therapy, and involves the therapist applying a localized negative pressure (suction) to the skin using silicone cups at targeted areas of the body. The intent of this therapy is to stimulate the function of the circulatory and lymphatic systems. It may also help to release congested tissues and loosen fascial adhesions at superficial tissues of the body.

It will leave marks on the skin that will fade fairly quickly (days or weeks after treatment), but does not involve heat, flame or "wet" cupping.

Therapeutic Massage (Silent)

Relaxation is a subjective experience and how you want to engage in the treatment process should be up to you. We offer a “Silent” version of our therapeutic massage with no music or unnecessary communication. This eliminates excessive stimulation and social pressure so you can effectively dissociate as nature intended.

Please note, you can always change your mind! Selecting this option just gives us an idea of your preference ahead of time but you are not bound to your first choice.

Facilitated Stretching

Facilitated Stretching, including proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), agonist contract, passive stretch and post isometric relaxation (PIR) - are techniques used to increase range of motion and flexibility. These methods have been found to increase range of motion in trained and untrained individuals. Although the duration of these effects vary, this is a great option for patients experiencing limited range of potion due to pain or muscle spasming and tension.

Patients remain fully clothed during this treatment and may be expected to take an active and cooperative role in application of the therapy.

Perinatal Massage
